Spirit Spine Announces CFDA Clearance for the Vessel-X System

Pasadena, CA … November 26, 2013

Spirit Spine Holdings Corp., Inc., a spinal device company developing innovative solutions for the treatment of the spinal interventional and minimally invasive procedures, today announced it has received the Class III clearance from the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) to market the Vessel-X Systems, also known as the Vesselplasty in China. This new addition to the company’s growing minimally invasive procedures for Vertebral Compression Fractures (VCFs) portfolio is designed to replace collapsed, damaged, or unstable vertebral bodies due to trauma or osteoporosis and provide rebalancing spinal column support.

Vessel-X, manufactured from controlled pore size fabric according to the particle size of different types of the bone cements allows the injected bone cement stays within the Vessel-X container without leaking out while the filling. When the Vessel-X reaches it's maximum volume, the small amount of the bone cement begins to wuss out around the container consistently under surgeon's control to create the perfect interdigitation in almost every Vesselplasty cases.

Spirit Spine Promotes Jack Ting as General Manager

Spirit Spine Holdings Corp., Inc., a spinal device company developing innovative solutions for the treatment of the spinal interventional and minimally invasive procedures, today announced the appointment of Jack Ting as General Manager, an important milestone in the company’s strategic plan to become a global leader in the interventional spinal market.

Jack joined the company with decent experience in marketing and sales, including his successful business developments with The Home Depot and Costco Wholesale. With his mechanical engineering and industrial engineering background, Jack has also helped the company to strengthen its supply chain as well as its product liability.

Spirit Spine Kicks off Vessel-X® Sales Campaign in China

As the first shipment of Vessel-X® Bone Filling Container System hit the receiving dock of the warehouse in Wai Gao Qiao Free Trade Zone in Shanghai, Spirit Spine Holdings Corp., Inc. officially kicks off its sales campaign of this product line in China. Following the receipt of the Class III clearance from the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA), Spirit Spine is putting its efforts to introduce this innovative minimally invasive procedures for Vertebral Compression Fractures (VCFs) to China market.

“The surgeons and patients have been longing for a better solution for VCFs treatment.” said Daniel Lin, Spirit Spine's CEO. “And now, we are answering their requests by bringing them Vessel-X® as we’ve promised years ago.”

Spirit Spine Moves Global HQ to Taipei, Taiwan

Pasadena, CA … May 13, 2014

Spirit Spine Holdings Corp., Inc., a spinal device company developing innovative solutions for the treatment of the spinal interventional and minimally invasive procedures, today announced the company will officially move its global HQ to Taipei, Taiwan, starting June 01, 2014.

"This is to better serve our fast growing Asia market and future corporate strategic planning," said Daniel Lin, Spirit Spine CEO. "This relocation will also improve our business operations and logistics as we utilize the strength of our Taipei manufacture's recent expansion."

“Considering our main markets – Europe, Asia, especially China,” said Jack Ting, Spirit Spine G.M. “We need a fast-responded mechanism to serve our customers.”

Spirit Spine had received the Class III clearance from the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) to market the Vessel-X Systems in November 2013, and has been drawing more attentions from other Asian countries, such as India, Thailand, and Korea.

Spirit Spine Holdings Corp., Inc., a spinal device company developing innovative solutions for the treatment of the spinal interventional and minimally invasive procedures, today announced the appointment of Dr. Chong-Chou Lee as Chief Executive Officer starting from Jan 1, 2015, an important milestone in the company’s strategic plan to become a global leader in the interventional spinal market.

Dr. Chong-Chou Lee PhD is best known as the helmsman behind Taiwan's national biotechnology industry strategy while he was serving as the Director in the Office of Science & Technology Advisory Group in Executive Yuan (Cabinet).

Prior joining Spirit Spine, Dr. Lee was the president of Medigen Vaccinology Corp. where he oversees all aspects of vaccine development, including strategic direction, clinical trials and regulatory path, collaborations and strategic alliances, and construction of cell-based vaccine facility. Dr. Lee has over 20 years of experiences in the biotechnology sector specialized in cellular and molecular technologies.

Dr. Lee has a Ph.D in Cellular and Structural Biology from University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and the postdoctoral training at National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
